General comments
H. influenzae: resistentie voor amoxicilline: 18% in het ziekenhuis, 15% bij huisarts; co-trimoxazol: 19% in het ziekenhuis, 15% bij huisarts; amoxicilline-clavulaanzuur: 7% in het ziekenhuis, 9% bij huisarts; doxycycline 3% in het ziekenhuis, 1% bij huisarts.
Geef patiënten die opgenomen worden in verband met een COPD-longaanval antibiotica alleen als er klinisch (koorts en sputumconversie) en/of radiologisch tekenen zijn van bacteriële infectie.
Overweeg antibiotica indien er sprake is van een verlaagd bewustzijn, desoriëntatie, ademhalingsfrequentie >30 per minuut, hoge leeftijd, relevante comorbiditeit, ernstig verlaagd FEV1.
